October 2011 Newsletter
Dear Holy Angels Catholic School Parents and Guardians:
I wish you the very best of the autumn season! We turn our calendars to a new month and we plan to prepare our students for the harvest season. We have much for which to be grateful. The children are reaping the benefits of your sacrifice and our work. We are indeed blessed.
October is a great teaching month. Please make sure that your child is present and on time everyday for school. Our school day is 8:20-3:20. Teaching begins promptly, and lateness disrupts teaching. Simply put, lateness is not acceptable.
October is designated in the church as the month of the Holy Rosary, a beautiful scriptural prayer to Jesus through His holy mother, Mary. Students in Grades 3-8 will have the opportunity to join the Holy Angels Catholic School Rosary Prayer Group during their recess period. We will pray together in the school chapel. Participation is voluntary, and all are welcome. We will pray for the intentions recorded at our school Prayer Table by our students, teachers, and parents.
Please note that we will have mandatory Interim Report Conferences at the end of this month. Your child’s teacher has set your appointment time, you will receive it in writing on October 5th, and we will be prepared to meet with you to discuss your child’s academic and social development.
Do you know that you can log into your FACTS account to change your monthly debit from one payment to two half-payments? Call Diana Glenn or Mrs. Martin to talk about the possibilities.
May our dear Blessed Mother watch over you, and may God continue to bless you and your family.
Respectfully,
M. Kathleen Filippelli
Principal
School Closing for Archdiocesan Professional Development
School will close on Friday, October 7th and Monday, October 10th so that our faculty members can participate in important Professional Development activities sponsored by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you treat these days as school days by keeping the recommended hours of sleep, your child will have an easier time when school reopens on Tuesday.
Claire’s Gourmet Fundraiser
Please pick up your pre-paid Claire’s orders on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12th between 12:00–2:00 and 3:00- 6:00 in the cafeteria. DO NOT come between 2:00-3:00 because the Seton Keough car line will be there at that time. Please pull up to the cafeteria windows, curb park to the right, put on your emergency blinkers, and walk into the cafeteria. Volunteers are needed to help this process run smoothly. Please sign up with Mrs. Martin if you can volunteer anytime between 8:00am and 6:00pm. Together, we can do anything!
If you chose the “Opt Out” plan, please send in your $100 commitment to fulfill your fundraising obligation for this sale.
